Scanning

Today at school I had scanning  I dont know why New York schools have scanning . They dont allow us to have cell phones , I understand ipod are not allowed but "CELL PHONES " what if something happens to us after we leave school property and we dont have any way of communication . I understand that cell phones can have a distraction to the students education , but certain situations you need to have a cell phone because their are alot of things that prevent people from being safe .
